Shakira’s, 47, new love interest Lucien Laviscount, 31, calls ‘inspiring’ singer ‘one of the most beautiful’ people he’s ever met

Shakira was sweetly labeled by her new love interest, Lucien Laviscount, as ‘inspiring’ and ‘one of the most beautiful’ people that he has ever met.

The Hips Don’t Lie songstress, 47 – who recently spoke about making ‘sacrifices’ in the hope of finding lasting love – was confirmed to be dating the Emily In Paris actor, 31, last month in April.

The performer was previously in a relationship with soccer player Gerard Pique – whom she shares two children with – from 2011 until they announced their split in June 2022 after 11 years together.

While talking to Us Weekly in an article published on Saturday, the British-born actor gushed about the singer – whom he first sparked romance rumors with in March after appearing in the steamy music video for her track, Punteria.

‘Shakira is one of the most incredible artists to ever grace the planet,’ Lucien expressed to the outlet during the F1 Miami Grand Prix.

‘Her dedication to her craft, to her fans and her love for life is truly inspiring. She’s one of the most beautiful, hard-working people I’ve ever met.’

In regards to being cast in the Punteria music video – which was filmed in February – Laviscount revealed that it had all happened ‘pretty quick.’

While filming the fourth season of Netflix’s Emily in Paris, the star recalled, ‘getting the call saying that there was some interest in me being a part of the video.’

‘I was shooting Emily In Paris at the time but we managed to figure out the dates and I was on the next flight out to Miami.’

On his time visiting the city in Florida, Lucien explained, ‘Miami is all about the people, the culture, the vibe. I was rapping along to “Welcome To Miami” when I was a kid, dreaming of this place. It never disappoints.’

Back in March, Shakira and Laviscount appeared in the music video for her song, Punteria – which also features Cardi B.

Throughout the course of the upbeat clip, both the songstress and actor shared a few affectionate moments, such as nearly locking lips.

Not long after the music video dropped, the two were spotted grabbing dinner together in New York City.

Last month in April, it was confirmed that the two stars were ‘casually’ dating. At the time, a source told Us Weekly that the beauty was ‘casually seeing him’ and said ‘the chemistry started’ on set of the Punteria music video.

The insider added that the Waka Waka performer was ‘pleasantly surprised by how charming and funny he was.’

A separate source also informed the outlet that, ‘Shakira and Lucien have a light playful thing going on – and he’s very into her.’

Laviscount has been previously linked to other stars such as Kelly Osbourne, Brooke Vincent, Jesy Nelson and also Kerry Katona.

However, friends of Shakira have expressed their fears that Lucien is ‘only in it for fame’ after they sparked up a romance.

A source told DailyMail.com, ‘Shakira is desperate to fall in love – but her friends are concerned because Lucien has slowly crept his way up the celebrity ladder while dating women who were all less famous than Shakira.’

‘The women he has been with are all very different. Now he is seeing Shakira – and she wants love.’

‘But her friends fear he just wants people to know his name and she provides that. They are seeing each other but are not heavily involved yet.’

The insider claimed that the songstress is still ‘not over her ex’ and that those around her ‘knows that Lucien is a rebound,’ adding, ‘She is dating someone who they fear is a player and she is going to get burned.’

Also in April, Shakira opened up about making ‘sacrifices’ and remaining ‘loyal’ in the hope of finding lasting love during an interview with Marie Claire.

The singer split from longtime partner, Gerard Pique, after 11 years together following rumors that he had cheated on her. The former couple also share two children: Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine.

‘I was in search for that man like my dad, who I’d have kids with and then make plans to be with forever – like my parents, who are still so in love,’ she explained.

‘I made many sacrifices for this. I was loyal. But sometimes things don’t go as planned. You move on.’

Following the split, she revealed, ‘I cannot say that I don’t believe in love because I see the example of my parents after 50 years together; how they look into each other’s eyes and hold hands and can’t live apart from each other.’

‘I’ve witnessed love, I just haven’t been that lucky myself. Monogamy is a utopia,’ the star added.

The performer has been keeping busy, and recently made a surprise appearance at the Coachella Music Festival in April during Bizarrap’s set.

She is also slated to embark on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour starting on November 2 in Coachella Valley, and is slated to end in Detroit on December 15.
