Lindsay Lohan Says Motherhood Is the ‘Most Beautiful’ as She Shares Plans for Son Luai’s First Birthday

“I’m just so grateful every day,” Lohan says of being a mom

Lindsay Lohan is cherishing every day of motherhood.
While appearing on Good Morning America on Thursday, June 27 to chat about her upcoming Freaky Friday sequel, the actress, 37, also opened up about her life as a mom to son Luai, whom she welcomed with husband Bader Shammas last summer.

“I’m so grateful for every moment of it, just every second,” Lohan said of being a mom. “Every morning waking up and running to grab my son and just looking at him and when he looks me back in the eyes, I’m going to get emotional. It’s just the most beautiful. I’m just so grateful every day.”

“We always move so fast, so I feel like that’s the one thing I’ve learned over time, taking time for myself and really just cherishing every moment,” she added.

As she and Shammas look ahead to Luai’s first birthday this summer, the Mean Girls star revealed what plans she has in store.

“I always just want to be with family. And I feel like as you get older in life, less is more,” she said. “So yeah, just spending it together. And for my son, I don’t know. We’re gonna do something fun. I’m gonna get him a bouncy house. And it’s fun for him.”

Lohan celebrated her first Mother’s Day as a mom in May, sharing her thoughts on motherhood in a sweet post on social media. She began the post by wishing her mom Dina and all mothers a wonderful holiday.

“It’s my first Mother’s Day and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a mom. It’s been the biggest blessing life has offered me,” Lohan captioned a graphic on Instagram on Sunday, May 12, featuring the words “Happy Mother’s Day” in blue writing with a floral pattern in the background.

“I am more thankful every day that goes by for my beautiful son Luai. Sending love and hugs to all of the mothers! Have a wonderful Mother’s Day!! 💐 🌸 👏 😉🙏🤗❤️😘🌸 💐,” the Parent Trap star continued.

In August, Lohan posted her first update as a mom, touching on postpartum and body changes.

“I am so proud of what this body was able to accomplish during these months of pregnancy and now, recovery,” the Irish Wish actress wrote on Instagram at the time.

“Having a baby is the greatest joy in the world! My OOTD lately is my @fridamom postpartum underwear. Because I’m not a regular mom, I’m a postpartum mom.”
