Demi Lovato, who uses the pronouns they/them, has taken TikTok by storm with their latest cooking series.
Known for their talents on stage, Demi is now showing off their skills in the kitchen, captivating fans with creative and easy-to-follow recipes.
While Demi Lovato’s cooking series only has two videos thus far, it has already sparked a buzz online, especially with their unique use of chickpea juice.
Demi Lovato Starts New Cooking Series On TikTok
In Demi’s latest “Cooking With Demi” series, the “Camp Rock” actress shared their “Yummy Hummus” recipe, which includes a unique chickpea hack.
“So what we wanna do is drain the chickpeas into a sieve,” they explained in the TikTok video, as an easy way to “save some of the chickpea juice.”
“I don’t know if that’s a thing or what you call it,” they confessed as a photo of a Minute Maid juice container appeared on the screen with a label edited to read “Chickpea Juice.”
After a few moments of struggling to open the can of chickpeas, complete with hilarious graphics, Demi drained them and added them to a blender along with some spices. This is where the chickpea juice comes into play. After blending the ingredients, Demi adds about a tablespoon of the reserved liquid to help achieve a smoother texture.

Demi Lovato Makes ‘Marry Me Chicken’
In their first TikTok of the series, Demi made “Marry Me Chicken” in honor of their engagement to Jutes, born Jordan Lutes.
The actress had been sharing posts about their fiancé since People Magazine confirmed their relationship in early August 2022. On Sunday, December 17, the couple’s reps confirmed to People that they got engaged the day before in Los Angeles.
Both Demi and Jutes are on sobriety journeys, with Jutes being particularly vocal about it on social media. In July, he celebrated reaching 100 days sober on Twitter.
Demi Lovato Talks About Their Relationship With Jutes
In a past interview with “CBS Mornings,” Demi revealed, per Entertainment Tonight, “I definitely am in a really good place,” she said of her relationship with fellow musician Jutes. “I don’t know what I’m going to write about on my next album because I’m so happy. It is a really good feeling, but I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
The two met in the studio and he actually helped cowrite one of Demi’s singles, “Substance.”
“Demi feels happy and fulfilled right now,” a source close to the couple told People Magazine at the time. “Life is good. [Jutes’] encouragement and respect have helped her immensely.”
Demi Lovato’s New Docuseries ‘Child Star’ To Air In September
Demi, who started their career at six years old and later starred in numerous Disney Channel shows and films during their teenage years, has teamed up with other child stars for their new documentary, “Child Star.”
“I think I’d passed the threshold of what I could withstand emotionally and physically,” they explained to The Hollywood Reporter, recognizing it now as a trauma response. “And I didn’t realize that child stardom could be traumatic — and it isn’t traumatic for everyone, but for me, it was.”
“I think about people in the wardrobe department on my TV show because I’d go in there in bad moods all the time, and I worry about guest stars that came on or the other actors or the people during ‘Camp Rock 2,’” Lovato added. “And it’s easy to excuse that behavior because I was so young and in so much pain, but I’m really remorseful, and that’s a guilt that stays with you forever.”
“Child Star” will be available to stream on Hulu on September 17.
