The actress and husband Bader Shammas welcomed their first baby together earlier this year
Lindsay Lohan is celebrating her first Mother’s Day as a new mom.
The Mean Girls star, 37, shared her thoughts on motherhood on her first holiday with her son Luai, whom she welcomed earlier this year with husband Bader Shammas. She began the post by wishing her mom Dina and all mothers a wonderful holiday.
“It’s my first Mother’s Day and I couldn’t be more grateful to be a mom. It’s been the biggest blessing life has offered me,” Lohan captioned a graphic on Instagram on Sunday, May 12, featuring the words “Happy Mother’s Day” in blue writing with a floral pattern in the background.
“I am more thankful every day that goes by for my beautiful son Luai. Sending love and hugs to all of the mothers! Have a wonderful Mother’s Day!! 💐 🌸 👏 😉🙏🤗❤️😘🌸 💐,” the Parent Trap star continued.
The Irish Wish actress recently appeared on an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, where the two discussed watching their own films.
Barrymore then asked Lohan to share the last movie of hers that she watched.
“Oh actually, I just wrapped a movie four days ago and I came home from work and my son was getting ready for dinner time,” the proud mom began. “And I opened the door and he was watching The Parent Trap. It was just on the TV.”
“And I started crying because I’m like, he doesn’t even know that’s Mommy yet. I was like, do I turn it off or do I just…he was kind of just staring. Because maybe, my voice is still similar to how it was then. So I was like, maybe he knows, like a little bit that it’s me because it sounds like me.”
“But it was a really magical moment. I took tons of pictures of it,” Lohan added.
The Freaky Friday star posted her first update as a mom in early August, touching on postpartum and body changes.
“I am so proud of what this body was able to accomplish during these months of pregnancy and now, recovery,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
“Having a baby is the greatest joy in the world! My OOTD lately is my @fridamom postpartum underwear. Because I’m not a regular mom, I’m a postpartum mom.”
