As it turns out, Lindsay Lohan wants a Mean Girls sequel just as much as the rest of the world — so much so that she just announced she’s taking a big step in trying to make it a reality.
In a Facebook Live interview with CNN earlier this week, the actress revealed that she’s written a screen treatment for Mean Girls 2, and that she’s been pushing hard for it to be turned into something more substantial.
“I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2,” she said. “It is not in my hands. I know that [the film’s writer and my co-star] Tina Fey and [producer] Lorne Michaels and all of Paramount are very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it.”
“I have already written a treatment for it,” she continued. “I just need a response. I know Mark Waters, the director; he’d happily come back.”
And while Cady — I mean, Lindsay — didn’t reveal much about how she envisioned the sequel would go, she did discuss some of the actors she’d like to get involved.
“I’d love to have Jamie Lee Curtis [and] Jimmy Fallon in the movie,” she said.
