Her breakthrough performance in The Parent Trap made her a household name and everyone was interested to see more of her on-screen. She was a Disney favorite, starring in many of their projects like Life-Size and Get a Clue.
She had reached the peak of her acting career with Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. However, her career took a sabbatical and she left Hollywood for Dubai. The actress reflected on those tumultuous days and why she had to make a significant change in her life.

Lindsay Lohan was at the top of her game by the time 2004 rolled around. She was one of the most successful young actors in the industry and her last two films Freaky Friday and Mean Girls were big hits. At the time, the actress was big at the LA party scene and she went through a series of legal troubles due to her DUI incidents (via US Magazine).
She was also with the wrong crowd of people and did get involved with drugs including cocaine. These events were much publicized by the media and the actress got tired of getting hounded by the paparazzi and left Hollywood for Dubai. In a recent interview with Bustle, Lohan reflected on her past and how the media focused on the troubled parts of her life rather than her work.
Lohan stated that her work got overshadowed by the paparazzi’s focus on problems in her personal life. She listed this as the reason why she had to leave Hollywood as the media and the tabloids started to go crazy with with the stories surrounding her. The actress feels that the media was not interested in feeding off from her professional matters only, and thus they created a whole frenzy about her misdeeds during that time. Lohan told Bustle,
The actress has been critical of her behavior at the time but the media frenzy made it worse for her. Her move to Dubai was a strategic move to find meaning in life again away from all the spotlight. Lohan made her big comeback as an actress with her recent Netflix projects Falling for Christmas and Irish Wish.
The actress is as busy as ever as she also confirmed a Freaky Friday sequel and a rumored role in Knives Out 3 (via Independent) along with Tom Hardy. Deadline has already reported that Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny have already joined the third film along with Daniel Craig. Lindsay’s possible inclusion will be a great addition to the franchise which already boasts stellar ensembles in its previous two parts.
Lindsay Lohan’s Freaky Friday 2 Is Officially Happening and Lands a Director
Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis starrer Freaky Friday was a big hit back in 2003 with audiences loving the body-switching aspect of the film. The two stars have teased that a sequel is close to happening since the past year or two. Freaky Friday 2 is now officially happening with a director on board.
According to Variety, director Nisha Ganatra, who previously directed Mindy Kaling’s Late Night and Dakota Johnson’s The High Note, will direct the much-anticipated sequel with both stars reprising their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman. Lindsay stated on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show that she and Curtis are very excited to return for the film.
The sequel’s plot or any information about other cast members is not known at the moment. With the first film having aged well with audiences, they expect a bigger and better follow-up that maintains the essence of the first film, while also providing something new.
