Returning to the screen with the comedy ‘Irish Wish’, Lindsay Lohan said the filming process was very interesting because this was the first time she worked with her husband – financier Bader Shammas.
“It was a great experience. Netflix does a great job of making the set a family. We laughed a lot,” the 37-year-old actress said in an interview with ET .
According to the newspaper, Lindsay’s husband serves as an executive producer on Irish Wish while her brother, Dakota Lohan, plays a supporting role. Lindsay is the film’s main star.
Bader Shammas is a financial professional in the banking sector, currently working in Dubai. He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2012 from the John H. Sykes College of Business, University of Tampa, Florida, USA. He and Lindsay got married in 2022, and welcomed their first son together in July last year.
Lindsay’s family settled in Dubai, and her husband fully supported her when filming away from home. After the romantic comedy Falling for Christmas, which premiered on Netflix on Christmas 2022, this is Lindsay’s second film since she moved to the Middle East.
Irish Wish , scheduled to be released on March 15, is described by Lindsay as being similar to two of her childhood hits, Freaky Friday and Just My Luck . The film is a comedy, romance, and supernatural film, which is the Mean Girls star’s forte .
Lindsay plays book editor Maddie in the film. When the love of her life gets engaged to her best friend, Maddie puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland. Days before the couple is set to tie the knot, Maddie makes a wish for true love and wakes up as the bride-to-be. While her dream seems to come true, Maddie soon realizes that her true soulmate is someone else entirely.
Lindsay said she was drawn to the project because she loved the character of Maddie. “She’s the only character I’ve ever played who has found her own way in the world. Maddie is a little insecure at first, but then she grows up and finds herself. The important thing in life is to put yourself first and know your worth. If you know you deserve better, then you work for it and you will get it,” Lindsay said.
