Lindsay Lohan shares MAJOR character shakeup for Freaky Friday Two on GMA

While on Good Morning America, Lindsay Lohan shared some details about her character Annie Colman’s return to the big screens with the sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday

Lindsay Lohan sat down with a Good Morning America reporter to drop a shocking announcement about one of her beloved characters returning to the screen.

The actress played teenager Anna Coleman in Freaky Friday opposite Jamie Lee Curtis who played her mom Tess. After opening a fortune cookie, Anna and Tess swap bodies, living each other’s lives.

It was recently announced that the beloved film will be getting a highly-anticipated sequel. When asked about the new film, more than 20 years after the original was released in 2003, Lindsay coyly admitted she “can’t say much.”

“But I am taking guitar lessons and I do have a daughter in the movie,” she revealed. Anna played in a rock band, Pink Slip, and Lindsay recorded the song Ultimate for the film – so it seems the character’s rock roots will be a part of the sequel.

Not much else was given about Anna’s daughter in the film, so it’s unknown if Lindsay will be playing the “mother to a teenager” role this time around like Jamie did in the original.

While on GMA, Lindsay also shared that her love of Jamie hasn’t wavered throughout the years. She said: “Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years so it’s kind of, you know, they always say that when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close with if you cannot see them for years and years but when you see them again, it’s like you never separated.”

Lindsay added: “And I always think women supporting women is such an incredible thing.”

The upcoming sequel has fans in hysterics after Lindsay posted a photo of her and Jamie on set earlier this week. “The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!,” Lindsay captioned the post.

“Greatest day of my life,” one fan commented on the post. Another wrote: ““Sooooo happy it’s getting a theatrical release and not just streaming! These gals deserve it.”
