Demi Lovato announced this week that she and her fiancé Jordan Lutes aka ‘Jutes’ have welcomed a new little one to their household.
Firing up her Insta Stories, the 31-year-old former Disney Channel star uploaded a picture of her youngest family member.
The photo showed a tiny puppy with curly white and golden hair, peering at the camera with chocolate brown eyes.
In text over the image, the Heart Attack singer revealed that her new pet is a male but neglected to specify what breed he is.
However she did disclose the name of her adorable pooch, who is only the latest of several dogs Demi has kept over the years.
‘MEET OUR NEW SON PICKLE,’ Demi wrote over the photo of her new puppy, breaking the news to her 155 million Instagram followers.
She also uploaded a heart-melting snap of little Pickle laying in front of a mirror and staring curiously at his reflection.
Demi’s dogs have included a Yorkshire terrier-miniature poodle mix called Batman, as well as a white dog named Ella after Cinderella.
In 2015 she suffered the heartbreaking loss of her dog Buddy when he was ripped apart by a coyote that made its way into her backyard.
Demi’s fiancé is on the wagon like she is and was a contributor to her rock-tinged album HOLY F***, which was released in 2022.
She joyfully announced their engagement just a few days before Christmas 2023, posting an Instagram picture of the dazzling diamond ring Jutes gave her.
‘I’m still speechless! Last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life @jutesmusic,’ she wrote.
‘My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you. Every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives. I love you baby!’
‘Yesterday I asked my best friend to marry me and she said yes,’ Jutes wrote. ‘I can’t imagine my life without you and thank god now I’ll never have to. Feeling like the luckiest man alive right now. I’m so in love with you @ddlovato!’
News of their relationship broke in August 2022 around the time of HOLY F***’s release, but a source said then that they had been ‘secretly dating for months now.’
The insider informed E! News: ‘Demi and Jutes met while working on music together. Things are going really well and they have a lot in common. They bond over music.’
Jutes was said to have ‘restored her faith’ in romance, after the Still Alive songstress previously ‘swore off dating for a while.’
The source described Demi as ‘definitely smitten,’ saying they ‘have been spending a lot of time together’ and adding: ‘Everyone thinks he is really good for her.’
Demi’s previous fiancé was the actor Max Ehrich, whom she began dating in March 2020 and went into lockdown with amid the coronavirus pandemic.
That July, Demi ecstatically revealed that she and Max had gotten engaged – but just two months later their relationship fell apart.
She subsequently told Glamour: ‘When I started getting older, I started realizing how queer I really am. This past year I was engaged to a man, and when it didn’t work, I was like, This is a huge sign.’
Demi added: ‘I thought I was going to spend my life with someone. Now that I wasn’t going to, I felt this sense of relief that I could live my truth.’
At the time of the interview, which ran in March 2021, she felt incapable of dating a biological man because she was ‘too queer’ to do so.
