Dua Lipa Responds to Complaints Her Music Isn’t Personal Enough, Explains It’s a Purposeful Decision

Dua Lipa is aware of complaints about her music not being personal, and she’s got some thoughts.

The 29-year-old “Training Season” pop star has delivered so many feel-good anthems over the years. However, some critics have taken issue with the music being more surface-level.

During an interview with Anderson Cooper, he mentioned that people have said “they don’t have a sense of who [she is]” after listening to her discography.

She responded, explaining that it was a purposeful decision.

“It’s something that I just naturally hold back,” Dua said on CBS News’ 60 Minutes. “Some people are just so ruthless with their own private life that they decide to put it all out in a song because they know that it’s gonna attract people’s attention.”

She continued, saying, “For me, it was always important to make music that people really loved, not because I was putting someone out on blast, not because I’m doing it for the clickbait at maybe someone else’s expense.”

If you missed it, Dua recently shared some very exciting professional news.
