The Freaky Friday sequel will feature “a multigenerational twist,” as the film takes place years after the original body swap story, according to Disney.

“Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter,” Disney shared in a June 2024 press release. “As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”

Jake Is Back

Lohan’s love interest Jake (Chad Michael Murray) also comes back in the sequel, as the actor was spotted in motorcycle gear on the film’s set.

Looks like Dr. Tess Coleman is still embracing her youthful energy during a car ride with Anna.
