Lindsay Lohan Has Ann-Margret’s Blessing to Play Her in a Biopic — Report

Ann-Margret has agreed to the project, per Us Weekly.

Lindsay Lohan is looking to take on the legacy of Ann-Margret.

After Lohan first voiced her desire to portray the frequent Elvis Presley collaborator in a biopic, Us Weekly reports that Ann-Margret, 83, has agreed to the project and has been spending time with Lohan in preparation for her portrayal. IndieWire has reached out to Lohan’s representatives for comment, but we did not immediately receive a response.

A source told Us Weekly that Lohan “feels she’s the only one who can play the part” of Ann-Margret, and that Lohan “wants to win an Oscar and an Emmy.” Lohan believes the biopic could “take her career to the next level.”

The actress recently has ushered in her “Lohannaissance” via some Netflix movies, which she’s also produced, and is preparing for the long-awaited “Freaky Friday” sequel — it’s in the works with Jamie Lee Curtis. Lohan recently had a cameo in the “Mean Girls” musical sequel movie, but not as her original character Cady Heron (or as herself).

Lohan previously told Bustle that she is shepherding the Ann-Margret biopic to the big screen and just needed the “right writer” for the film‘s screenplay. And presumably, she’ll also need a studio (or at least financing) and a director and a distributor…

“I really want to play Ann-Margret. She’s a triple threat, and she’s an amazing woman on top of that,” Lohan said. “So I just really want to do her justice and help tell a great story for her.”

Ann-Margret is not the only Old Hollywood star that Lohan has eyed to portray: “Karl Lagerfeld told me to play Clara Bow,” she added, citing the silent-film star that was an inspiration for Margot Robbie’s character in “Babylon.” (Bow was also recently name-dropped by Taylor Swift.) Among Lohan’s other desired film projects would be a potential collaboration with Adam Sandler, returning to Lohan’s comedy roots.

“I would love, love, love to do a movie with Adam Sandler,” she said.

Get in line, LiLo. Fellow former teen star Drew Barrymore also shared her desire to reunite with Sandler after the duo starred in films like “The Wedding Singer” and “50 First Dates” together.
