Shakira is going through a new phase, and she is happier than ever. Since moving to Miami and officially leaving Barcelona after more than a decade in Spain, the Colombian singer has rediscovered herself. This is what she affirms in her latest interview with Rolling Stone, where she graces the cover and expresses that she has rediscovered herself, “regained her accent,” style, and sensuality.
The artist also takes the opportunity to deny all the rumors linking her day in and day out. Following her breakup with Gerard Piqué, the singer has remained single, although the media have published news about her alleged relationships with very well-known men, including actor Tom Cruise and athletes Lewis Hamilton and Jimmy Butler.
Shakira emphatically asserts that she is currently at her best and is not thinking about seeking a new relationship that would make her “shut herself away” with a man again. However, the Colombian singer does not seem determined to remain single and whole, as she would be open to having adventures here and there, maintaining her independence at all levels.
The singer openly discusses this with the publication, stating that she is not considering dating anyone at the moment because she does not have “the time or the space” for a new boyfriend in her life right now.
A situation that could also change. “I’m not thinking about that… How much room do I have for a man right now?” she jokes. “What can I say? I like men. That’s the problem. I shouldn’t like them after everything I’ve been through, but imagine how much I still like men.”
A stable and long-lasting relationship of eleven years like the one she had with Gerard Piqué, with whom she loudly broke up in 2022, is not currently in her plans. However, the artist does not rule out meeting new people: “I am not opposed to having friends.” She does not, however, disclose the names of the lucky ones who are or are not part of her life at the moment.
Still, her love life will always take a back seat, even a third or fourth place, as she prioritizes her two children, Milan (11) and Sasha (10) above all else. Following them comes her mental well-being, and then her career. The artist wants this to serve as a lesson to teach her two children.
I think they have seen their mother cry. I think they have seen her celebrate. I think they have seen her laugh. I think they have seen her work tirelessly… I want to show them that life is not linear.
