Shakira knows how to make a fiery entrance.
The singer did just that at tonight’s 2024 Met Gala, when she joined fellow A-listers from around the world at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. For the grand occasion, she showed out in a vibrant red Carolina Herrera gown that perfectly contrasted with the green of the carpet.
The piece was a strapless dress with a plunging heart-shaped neckline and triangular cutouts at the ribs. At the center of her chest was a dazzling flower with a red gem in the middle, and at the wrists, dramatic bulbous sleeves that looked like giant red roses. In the front, the gown had a high leg slit, while the back featured a long train that flowed as the “Puntería” singer walked.
Shakira kept the look monochrome, wearing the masterpiece of a dress with matching sky-high platform heels in the same rouge hue, by Stuart Weitzman. She wore her caramel hair in her signature mermaid waves, and had on bronzy makeup and a burgundy lip. She finished the glamorous ensemble with a diamond necklace that matched the shining flower on her chest, as well as diamond earrings and rings.
The Colombian superstar is fresh off the release of her album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which she recorded following her split from the father of her children, retired Spanish soccer pro Gerard Piqué.
Since then, she has been on a fierce style streak, now bringing her boss energy to the steps of the Met on fashion’s biggest night.
