Shakira’s last song mentioned Pique

In her upcoming 12th album, Shakira composed a song related to Pique. This is the last time she mentions her ex through her music.

In an interview with Zane Lowe, Shakira explained why Última would be the last song she wrote about her ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué: “I told myself I had to have more songs here. It was like I was throwing everything away, or I couldn’t. I would suffocate if I didn’t let go of the past,” the singer confided.

According to People , Última is also Shakira’s last composition on the upcoming album Las Moones Ya No Lloran ( Women Don’t Cry Anymore ). The song was created in a rush because the album was almost completed. Therefore, the process of creating Última encountered many problems.

Shakira said the publisher urged her to finish the recording so she could send it to the vinyl division. She begged the unit to give her more time to polish the song to perfection.

“I could work non-stop on this album, from editing, mixing and everything else. When they said it was time to stop, but I said no, I had one more song called Última ,” the Colombian singer recalled.

She added: “The song is not just about me, but also about him (Pique). I’m happy to be able to put it on the album, even if it’s the last song I wrote for him.”

Shakira’s 12th studio album – Las Moones Ya No Lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore) – will be released on March 22. This is her first album release in seven years.

The album consists of 16 songs, including 8 unreleased songs, a remix and 7 previously released singles such as Music Sessions Vol. 53, TQG, Te Felicito, Copa Vacía…
