It’s the moment we all have been waiting for: Taylor Swift has arrived at the Grammys. But you may be saying to yourself, Haven’t we seen this film before? (And we did like the ending.)
That’s because Swift showed up draped in diamonds and a red lip like she just walked off the set of the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. I mean, come on, the resemblance is just uncanny.
Swift’s long, high-cut white gown is by Schiaparelli, and she accented the look with long black gloves. She wore her signature red lip and cat eye, with several diamond and black necklaces by Lorraine Schwartz layered on her neck and a braid woven into her long, blonde hair.
One of those necklaces is, notably, a clock on a chocker with the time set to midnight. So while we may be (seemingly) moving ahead to the Reputation era, we can’t ignore that we’re honoring Swift’s last triumph of an album at the Grammy Awards.
Swift is, of course, in the running for six awards including album of the year for Midnights. If she wins, she will be the first artist in history to win that award—the ceremony’s most prestigious—four times (currently she is tied with Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, and Frank Sinatra for the most wins, with three). She last won the top prize for Folklore in 2021.
Taylor Swift is also up for record of the year and song of the year for “Anti-Hero,” best pop vocal album for Midnights, best pop solo performance for “Anti-Hero,” and best pop duo/group performance for “Karma” featuring Ice Spice (got all that?). And she’s actually never won the award for record of the year, so if she does, that will be another big moment in Swiftian history.
Sadly, this Sunday we will not be treated to a Tayvis (or is it Trav-lor?) moment, as we have so many previous Sundays this year. Swift’s BF Travis Kelce is unable to make the awards show because he’s practicing for something called the Super Bowl? Not sure what that is—lame!
